Description
The orange striped anemone has a smooth striped column and short tentacles. When touched, the tentacles are shakily retracted. They can have a few longer tentacles, that is used to scare off competitors. These are called catch-tentacles.

Size
The column is maximum 60 mm high and has a diameter 15 mm,  the tentacles are up to 20 mm long.

Colour
From bright orange to brownish orange, also very pale and greenish individuals can be found.

Habitat
They prefer hard substrate, but can also be found on algae. You can find them from the low water line till a depth of 50 m.

Distribution
Northeastern Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean.
