Description
The rock-pool shrimp has a highly transparent body with fine red lines. The rostrum
is shorter then that of P. serratus. The females move to deeper water for spawning.
When threatened, it can move backwards very quickly by strong strokes of the tail.
Size
Maximum length 60 mm.
Colour
The body is highly transparent with fine red lines and yellow and/or white spots.
The legs have yellow band and the first segment above the claw is often bright blue.
Habitat
Likes the shallow coastal waters and can be found and various substrates.
Distribution
East Atlantic and Mediterranean sea.
