Description
Thoralus cranchii is easily overlooked with his well camouflaged compact body. It
can be determined by the bent in its body, but also by the big spot on its carapace,
just behind the head. It has a short rostrum and in front of the eyes there are
featherlike antennas.
Size
Maximum length 22 mm.
Colour
The body is transparent with red to brown spots en behind the head there is a white
spot. The rostrum is rather short and is transparent.
Habitat
It prefers solid substrate where enough protection can be found between stones,
rocks or in small caves.
Distribution
East Atlantic and Mediterranean sea.
