The mud sagartia on muddy or sandy seafloors, where the column is hardly ever visible and only the oral disc is not buried. The pedal disc is always attached to a rock, shell or stone to get some hold.
Size
The column can reach a length of 120 mm and the tentacles 12 mm.
Colour
This anemone is highly variable in colour, from purple, pink, orange, green or brown, from light to very dark, but also mixed colours are common.
Habitat
On muddy or sandy seafloors, always attached to a rock, shell or stone.
Distribution
The mud sagartia can be found in all waters of Zeeland.
