The bell is large and heavy with a lobed edge. It has 8 more or less clustered arms. A sticky secretion is used to catch food. The male gonads are bluish, the female are brownish. Not harmful to men.
Size
Can grow up to almost 1 meter in diameter.
Colour
Blue to greyish blue.
Habitat
In the summer months often in shallow waters, in wintertime in deeper parts.
Distribution
More likely to be found in the Oosterschelde than in the Grevelingen. Never in great numbers.
