Description
This animal has characteristic club-shaped cerata. The rhinophores are smooth and sheathed, which often can be seen quite clearly. The Doto family contains a number of very similar species. Recent technology has discovered a number of new species within this family, and probably more are to be found in the near future.

Size
Usually up to 10 mm long.

Colour
Translucent white body with red to maroon pigment speckles. The tips of the cerata also have red to maroon pigmentation.

Habitat
This small nudibranch can be found everywhere where its food occurs. It feeds on several kinds of hydroids such as Eudendrium and Obelia. These are species that like a fair current.

Distribution
Often in great numbers in the Oosterschelde.
