Description
This sponge is recogizable by its strong yellow colour, its rough surface and wide flattened branches that frequently are grown together.
It is an animal that settles in a place whit mediate currents.
Similar species are Stelligera stuposa yellow to amber in color,
but this one is not grown together and has smaller branches, and Axinella verrucosa that has a significantly smoother surface.
Size
Can grow up to 10 to 15 cm high.
Colour
The colour is bright yellow to very light orange.
Habitat
From a depth of about 10 meters
on hard surfaces where the current is
not too strong.
Distribution
Eastern Atlantic Ocean including the entire Mediterranean.
